I’m New

F6d2211b88b3f210566c2eeb4bfb066d

We’ve been worshiping in St Ann’s and St Stephen’s churches in Dublin’s city-centre for hundreds of years.

While we cherish our tradition and history, we also seek to constantly renew ourselves to be relevant in the 21st century, to serve our community with love, and to welcome new people.

We seek to welcome all Christians who are looking for a spiritual home!

Who we are

We are a gathered congregation from across the city of Dublin and beyond. Our two churches are located in the commercial centre of Dublin, and as such very few of our congregation actually live in the parish.

Some of our members have generations of personal connections to the parish, while others are new-comers to Dublin. We are blessed to have members of our congregation from all around the world, and with a wide variety of spiritual backgrounds, traditions and experiences.

We want you to feel comfortable bringing your authentic self to church, and for you to feel welcomed.

What are services like?

If you’ve ever attended Church of Ireland, Anglican or Episcopal church services, our liturgy will feel very familiar. Those with a Catholic or other Christian background will also probably feel comfortable with our worship.

Our liturgy comes from the Book of Common Prayer, and the music and hymn singing is supported by our professional choirs and organists.

See our Worship page for upcoming services.

What time does it start?

All our Sunday services start at 11.00am, and last around an hour. Doors are open in advance, and if you are early you might catch the end of the choir rehearsal.

Please introduce yourself to the priest, a church warden or helper when you arrive. We’d love to say hello to you and answer any questions. Then perhaps take a few quiet moments before the service starts for personal reflection and prayer.

What about children?

We love when families are able to worship together, and we understand when inquisitive young minds grow restless. Children of all ages are welcome to join our worship.

Prior to COVID we had an active Sunday School in St Ann’s that we called the Kid’s Club. If you are interested in helping us re-start the Kid’s Club then please get in touch.

What about Communion?

We invite everyone to the Lord’s Table for communion, even if you prefer not to receive.

All communicant members, of whatever Christian denomination, are welcome to receive Communion (the bread and wine):

  • To receive the bread, extend your palms in front of you.
  • When offered the chalice with the wine, please take hold to drink.

If you prefer not to receive Communion, please still join us at the altar rail, cross your arms over your chest, and the priest will give you a blessing.

Gluten free wafers are available for those who need them – just ask.

What about afterwards?

Please join us after the service for tea or coffee. We would love to get to know you better in a more relaxed setting.

If you would like to talk to one of the clergy or arrange a home visit, then please get in contact.

How do I learn more?
