Regular visitors to Dawson Street will have noticed scaffolding being erected around the south west tower of St Ann’s church.
St Ann’s church is over 300 years old and, along with most other historic buildings, requires constant maintenance to ensure it is safe and protected for future generations.
We have had to engage specialist contractors to erect the scaffolding, bearing in mind the unique constraints of working on a busy city-centre street that’s a corridor for Luas trams and buses. This is all to help facilitate repairs to the roof of the tower. It is currently in a very poor condition.
