For a number of weeks in April and May we’ve experienced some technical problems with live streaming our Sunday service from St Ann’s.

We worked hard to resolve the problems, as we know that a sizeable number of people watch the service online every week. One of the measures we put in place was to record the services and upload the videos to our YouTube page a few hours later.

The Challenge

Live broadcasting of our services to YouTube is a somewhat complex technical challenge. We need to make sure that our broadband connection is active, the sound system levels are correctly set, and video switcher/streamer is connected and working correctly. Sometimes all the technology just works on a Sunday morning, and sometimes it needs to intervention of someone technical to diagnose and resolve problems.

For the moment, everything is back and working. But it’s always a concern that something may break again. So if you have experience working with sound or video systems, or are technically minded and willing to learn, then we would welcome any offers to volunteer time to help out.
